Fast ForWord Summer Program

Accomplished Learning Centre (ALC) offers and supports the full library of Scientific Learning's Fast ForWord and Reading Assistant programs.

This ensures that the learner is able to work on the most appropriate program based on age, ability, and need.

• Language Series (Elementary School): Language Basics, Language, Language to Reading
• Literacy Series (Middle and High School): Literacy, Literacy Advanced
• Reading Series (Pre-school to High School): Reading Prep, Reading 1, Reading 2, Reading 3, Reading 4, Reading 5, Reading Assistant
• Math. Brain scans have demonstrated that the Fast ForWord programs develop the left angular gyrus. This part of the brain is where symbolic information is handled. If this area is weak, math will be difficult. If math is the problem you are looking to help your child overcome, the summer program can include Structure of Intellect's Math Prep ($45 supplies fee) to even more quickly and completely develop the child's symbolic processing abilities.

OPTION 1: ALC Computer Lab

• Kindergarten to Grade 12
• Choose session length: 60 minutes, 90 minutes, or 30 minutes for five-year-olds
• Choose 4 or 5 times per week, Monday to Friday
• Choose your time between the hours of 9 a.m. and 7 p.m.
• Minimum 30 sessions. The program may continue into September.
• All program set-up fees and assessment fees are waived during July and August for students who have prepaid for the summer programs.
• 50 minutes, $29 per session. 90 minutes, $39 per session. 30 minutes, $19 per session if parent assists otherwise $29.

The computer lab accommodates up to ten students quite comfortably. It is fully monitored by trained and experienced staff. The student does 50 or 90 minute protocols of one or more Scientific Learning's Fast ForWord and/or Reading Assistant programs based on the student's specific needs and goals. Trained staff oversee the computer lab and assist the students as needed.

• Children aged 6 and over may be dropped off -- parents don't need to stay.
• Five-year-olds must be assisted by a parent or pay an additional $10 per session.
• Progress reports provided daily and/or weekly.
• Lots of incentives to keep your child motivated including a points system to earn prizes, a weekly contest, and lots of give-aways.
• Based on the student's needs, a broad range of other programs and services are included.

OPTION 2: YOUR PLACE AND ALC

• A netbook computer is provided at no charge so that the student can do sessions at home and bring the computer for sessions at ALC. A fully refundable deposit is required.
• The student does 30, 50 or 90 minute sessions five days per week.
• Sessions at ALC may include Reading Assistant and Structure of Intellect Math Prep if necessary.
• PLUS!!! Lots of incentives, support, support materials, assessments, and special bonuses.
• Pricing is the same as for Option 1.

OPTION 3: YOUR PLACE

• The student does 30, 40, 50 or 90 minute sessions five days per week at home.
• Includes lots of incentives, support, support materials, and special bonuses.
